Where is the Lisbon cruise port?

Most ships dock alongside at the Lisbon Cruise Port quays between Jardim do Tabaco and Santa Apolonia, at the foot of Alfama. The main building is the Lisbon Cruise Terminal; the Santa Apolonia Passenger Terminal next door handles extra ships.

From the main terminal, Praca do Comercio and Baixa are a flat 15-minute riverside walk, and Alfama rises right behind the port.

On busy days some ships use the Alcantara or Rocha Conde de Obidos maritime stations, about 5 km west, a taxi or tram ride from the centre. Check your cruise documents.

Destination

About Lisbon

Lisbon, Portugal's capital, spreads over steep hills on the north bank of the Tagus estuary near the Atlantic.

Its old quarters are the main draw: the medieval maze of Alfama below Sao Jorge Castle, the 18th-century grid of Baixa, and hilltop Chiado and Bairro Alto. West along the river, Belem holds the UNESCO-listed Jeronimos Monastery and Belem Tower, and day trips reach the palaces of Sintra.

Lisbon is a busy turnaround port and a popular port of call, with mild weather much of the year.
