About Explora I

Explora I is the first ship of Explora Journeys, the MSC Group's luxury brand, built by Fincantieri at Monfalcone, Italy. Her delivery was delayed and her first sailings were cancelled after some fire-safety materials were found not to meet the required certifications and had to be replaced; Fincantieri delivered her in July 2023, and she sailed her maiden voyage from Copenhagen to Reykjavik on 1 August 2023. She has 461 suites for 922 guests at double occupancy and a crew of 640.
