Where is the Palma de Mallorca cruise port?

Cruise ships dock at the west end of Palma Bay, about 4–6 km from the Cathedral. Most use the Moll de Ponent/Paraires quays at Portopi, with Estacions Maritimes 1–4 (shared with ferries).

Large ships, and ships on busy days, berth out on the Dique del Oeste breakwater at Estacio Maritima 6, beside the Castell de Sant Carles. The berth is assigned per call.

From Poniente it is a flat 4 km (about 55 minutes) walk along the Passeig Maritim to the Cathedral; from the Dique del Oeste it is about 6 km, so most passengers take EMT bus line 1, a taxi or a cruise-line shuttle.

Estacio Maritima 1 (Moll de Ponent) has no map position yet.

Getting to the Palma de Mallorca cruise port

Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) → Estacions Maritimes 1–4 (Moll de Ponent / Paraires)

21 km · 15–20 min by car

Most embarking passengers take a taxi from the official rank on the arrivals level (level 0), usually via the Ma-20 ring road. Allow extra time on Saturday turnaround mornings, when taxi queues and port traffic build up.

Typical prices, approximate. Fares change with demand, traffic and time of day.

Driving to the port

Ships are assigned either to Estacions Maritimes 1–4 (Moll de Ponent/Paraires) or to the Dique del Oeste (EM6), so check the berth before booking transport. Port access is via the Portopi roundabout and Avinguda Gabriel Roca, which get congested on Saturday turnaround mornings. The City Sightseeing hop-on bus stops at the Estacio Maritima but not at the Dique del Oeste. The Bus Nautic water bus is not running.

Palma de Mallorca Cruise Terminals

6 terminals

Estacio Maritima 1 (Moll de Ponent)

The port's oldest passenger station (1961) on the Moll de Ponent. It serves both cruise ships and regular ferry traffic, and a 2015 elevated walkway with escalators connects it to the extended Poniente cruise berths. Assignments vary by sailing.

Not on the map yet

Estacio Maritima 2 (Moll de Paraires)

The main building of the Poniente/Paraires passenger cluster (Estacions Maritimes 1–4), which cruise ships share with ferries. The 'Portopi Estacions Maritimes 1, 2, 3 i 4' stop for EMT line 1 and a taxi rank are outside. Homeporting lines such as Marella, TUI Cruises (Mein Schiff) and AIDA, and calling ships, are assigned here or to the Dique del Oeste depending on the day.

Estacio Maritima 3 (Moll de Paraires)

Passenger station in the Poniente/Paraires cluster, linked to the others by elevated walkways. It is shared by cruise ships and ferries, and assignments vary by sailing.

Estacio Maritima 4 (Moll de Ponent)

Passenger station at the Moll de Ponent end of the Poniente cluster, shared by cruise ships and ferries. Assignments vary by sailing.

Estacio Maritima 5 (Dique del Oeste)

Building mapped on the Ribera de Sant Carles quay near the Dique del Oeste. Third-party cruise guides list it with EM6 for cruise ships, but its cruise role is not confirmed by the port authority.

Estacio Maritima 6 (Dique del Oeste)

A 9,280 m2 cruise terminal on the Dique del Oeste platform, opened in April 2018 for ships over 300 m. It handles both turnaround and transit calls and generally takes the largest ships. It is about 6 km from the Cathedral, and the nearest EMT line 1 stop is Dic de l'Oest – Museu Sant Carles.

The Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB) publishes no official cruise-passenger car park. Palma's municipal mobility company runs the CLH park-and-ride (aparcament dissuasiu) at a maximum of EUR 5 per day, open 24 hours, with bus links into the centre. It is a city car park, not a cruise facility. Most cruise passengers arrive by taxi or airport transfer; the airport is about 20 minutes from the cruise piers.

About Palma de Mallorca

Palma is the capital of Mallorca and of the Balearic Islands, a port city of about 400,000 people on a wide bay on the island's southwest coast. Its skyline is dominated by La Seu, the Gothic cathedral beside the sea walls, and the Almudaina royal palace, with the Old Town's narrow lanes, Arab baths, courtyard palaces and markets behind them.

To the west, the circular Gothic Bellver Castle overlooks the bay, the seafront Passeig Maritim is lined with marinas, and Santa Catalina, a former fishermen's quarter, is known for its food market and restaurants. The historic Soller railway runs from the city centre across the Serra de Tramuntana mountains.

Palma handled 1.93 million cruise passengers in 2025 and is a turnaround port for western Mediterranean cruises.

Climate
Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers (July–August highs around 31°C) and mild winters (January highs around 15°C). September to December is the wettest period, with October rain often falling in short thunderstorms.

Soller vintage railway

The wooden-carriage train runs from Palma's Placa d'Espanya across the Tramuntana mountains to Soller in about an hour, with a tram on to Port de Soller. The station is about 6 km from the port (also on EMT line 1), so it suits long calls or pre- and post-cruise days.
