About Marella Explorer
Marella Explorer was built by Meyer Werft at Papenburg and delivered to Celebrity Cruises in 1996 as Galaxy, the second Century-class ship, and was renamed Celebrity Galaxy in 2008. In 2009 she became TUI Cruises' first ship: after a conversion at Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven she was named Mein Schiff in Hamburg, and she became Mein Schiff 1 in 2010. She joined Marella Cruises in 2018 and, after a refit in Cádiz, was named Marella Explorer in Palma that May. She has 962 cabins for 1,924 guests at double occupancy and was refurbished at Navantia in Cádiz in December 2021.
