Ships berth at a dedicated quay opened in 2008 for vessels up to 340 m, beside the town centre.
A short walk away are the Maison Bonaparte, the Palais Fesch fine arts museum, the Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral where Napoleon was baptised, and the Miollis citadel. West of town, the coast road runs to the Parata peninsula and the Sanguinaires Islands, known for their sunsets.

Napoleon's birthplace at 5 rue Saint Charles, where he was born on 15 August 1769. Now a national museum, it covers the Emperor's childhood and his family through furniture, period objects and archives.

Fine arts museum holding one of the finest collections of Italian paintings in France.

The historic centre's narrow streets lead to Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral, where the future Emperor was baptised, the 15th-century Miollis citadel and squares such as Place Foch and Place De Gaulle.

West of the city, the Parata peninsula offers panoramic views, a Genoese tower and the Douaniers (customs officers') trail, facing the Sanguinaires Islands, famous for their sunsets. Sea excursions run to the islands.
