Hvar Town is the main town on the island of Hvar, off the Dalmatian coast of Croatia. Its small harbour sits inside the old town and is too narrow for cruise ships, so ships anchor in the bay and tender passengers to the Riva waterfront, a couple of minutes from St Stephen's Square. Calls are mostly by small luxury and expedition ships in summer.
Above the town stands the Fortica, and water taxis run to the Pakleni Islands. Across the island, Stari Grad and its plain are a longer excursion by road.
