Santa Cruz II was built by ASENAV in Chile and delivered in November 2002 as Mare Australis, sailing Patagonian cruises for Cruceros Australis. Metropolitan Touring bought her in 2015, refurbished and renamed her, and cut her capacity to 90 guests; she made her first Galápagos voyage in October 2015. After a 2021 refit she has sailed mainly under charter to HX Expeditions.
