Saint John, one of New Brunswick's two largest cities, lies on the Bay of Fundy at the mouth of the Saint John River. Cruise ships dock at two purpose-built terminals on the east side of the harbour, a short walk from the uptown district with its historic City Market and preserved Victorian brick and stone buildings. The Bay of Fundy's tides are among the highest in the world, and at Reversing Falls they push the river's rapids backwards as the tide rises.
Irving Nature Park offers coastal trails nearby. Further along the coast, the sea caves at St Martins can be explored on foot at low tide. The 2026 season runs until early November with 58 scheduled calls and more than 140,000 passengers.
