Phuket has two cruise arrival points. In the calmer high season (about November–April) most ships anchor off Patong Bay on the west coast and tender passengers to a jetty on Patong Beach Road, in the middle of the resort town with taxis and restaurants nearby.
In the monsoon season and for very large ships, ships dock at Phuket Deep Sea Port at Ao Makham on the southeast coast, a working cargo port about 8 km from Phuket Town, where onward shuttles or taxis are needed. Check the ship's notice for the landing on each call.

Phuket is Thailand's largest island, in the Andaman Sea off the country's southwest coast, and one of Southeast Asia's busiest beach destinations. Its west coast is lined with resort beaches such as Patong, Karon and Kata, with Patong also known for Bangla Road nightlife. Phuket Town, the provincial capital in the southeast, has an old quarter of Sino-Portuguese shophouses from the tin-mining era, shrines and a street-food scene.
Hilltop landmarks include the Big Buddha above Chalong Bay, and Wat Chalong is the island's most visited temple. Northeast of the island, Phang Nga Bay's limestone karsts and sea caves are a classic boat trip. Phuket is a regular call on Southeast Asia cruises, often from Singapore.
