About Amsterdam

Sea-going cruise ships berth at Passenger Terminal Amsterdam on the Veemkade, on the IJ waterfront about a 15-minute walk east of Amsterdam Centraal. The terminal is used for both turnarounds and port calls, with long-term parking opposite. Since 2026, however, the city has cut sea-cruise calls to a maximum of 100 a year on a single berth, and whether the terminal moves or sea cruises end by 2035 is still being decided.

Tram 26 stops opposite the terminal, and Schiphol airport is about 25 km away. From the terminal it is a short trip to the UNESCO-listed Canal Ring, the Anne Frank House and the Museumplein, home to the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum.
