Nynashamn is a small coastal town about 60 km south of Stockholm, used by cruise ships too large or too pressed for time to sail up to the capital. Ships tie up at a 260-metre floating pier that the port extends out to the ship, in a harbour otherwise used by ferries to Gotland and Gdansk. Most passengers head into Stockholm by commuter train, about an hour away, or on a transfer bus, while others stay to stroll the harbour and town.

Sweden's capital is about an hour away by commuter train or transfer bus, for Gamla Stan and the city's museums.
