Where is the Milazzo cruise port?

Ships dock alongside in the harbour at the edge of the town centre, so no tender is needed. The seafront and Piazza Caio Duilio are a few minutes' flat walk away; the castle is uphill, with a steep final climb.

Hydrofoils to the Aeolian Islands leave from the same port. Capo Milazzo and Taormina need a taxi, bus or tour.

About Milazzo

Milazzo sits on a narrow peninsula on Sicily's north coast and is the main gateway to the volcanic Aeolian Islands. Its huge hilltop castle encloses one of Sicily's largest walled citadels, layering Arab, Norman, Aragonese and Spanish fortifications above the medieval Borgo Antico.

The palm-lined Lungomare Garibaldi runs along the harbour, and the wild Capo Milazzo headland offers clear water and the Piscina di Venere rock pool. Hydrofoils reach Vulcano and Lipari in about an hour, and Taormina is a longer day trip.

Climate
November in Milazzo is mild: daytime highs ease from about 22°C to 17°C and lows from 17°C to 13°C. Rain becomes more frequent, with the chance of a wet day rising from 31% to 39% and about 71–81 mm on a rolling monthly basis; skies are overcast or mostly cloudy about 42% of the time.
