Where is the Fort Lauderdale cruise port?

Ships dock at Port Everglades, Broward County's deep-water seaport south of downtown Fort Lauderdale, which straddles Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood and Dania Beach. All ships berth alongside, with no tenders.

Its eight cruise terminals are in two clusters: Northport (Terminals 2 and 4, off SE 17th Street by the Convention Center) and Midport (Terminals 18, 19, 21, 25, 26 and 29, along Eller Drive). Gates check photo ID, and terminal assignments vary by sailing.

FLL airport is about 3 km (1.8 miles) from the port, and Las Olas Boulevard and the beach are 4–10 km away by car, so walking into town isn't practical.

5–7 km · ~10 min by car

FLL is about 3 km from the port boundary, and most fly-in passengers take a taxi or rideshare via US-1 and Eller Drive or SE 17th Street. The port advises allowing 45–60 minutes from landing to cruise check-in.

Driving to the port

Port Everglades has three security-checked entrances: SE 17th Street at Eisenhower Blvd, State Road 84 east of US-1 (Spangler Blvd), and I-595 East at Eller Drive. Everyone 18 and older must show government-issued photo ID and cruise documents at the gate, and vehicles may be searched. Northport (Terminals 2 and 4) and Midport (18–29) are not practical to walk between; a taxi between terminals is a flat USD 8. Broward County Transit buses stop at Northport on SE 17th Street, and the Water Taxi offers luggage storage at 1366 SE 17th St (USD 10 per bag).

Port Everglades (Broward County) runs garages and lots next to its cruise terminals. Every official facility charges the same: USD 5 for the first hour, USD 10 for up to 5 hours and a USD 25 daily maximum, or USD 35 a day for oversized vehicles. Daily rates start when you pull the ticket at the entry machine. Heron Garage serves Terminals 2 and 4, Palm Garage serves Terminal 29, and the surface lots serve the southport terminals; lots without a confirmed terminal are listed with serves_terminals left empty. Private lots near the airport also offer cruise parking with shuttles, but none had a verifiable rate on its own site, so none are listed.

About Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale is a coastal city in Broward County in southeastern Florida, between Miami and Palm Beach. It calls itself the "Venice of America" for its network of canals, the New River and the Intracoastal Waterway, lined with marinas, mega-yachts and waterfront mansions along Millionaire's Row.

Its central beach has a palm-lined promenade on A1A, and downtown's Las Olas Boulevard and Riverwalk are the main areas for dining, shopping and galleries. Historic sites include Bonnet House, and the Everglades lie about 24 miles west.

The city's Port Everglades is one of the world's busiest cruise homeports, with about 4.6 million multi-day cruise passengers in FY2025 (preliminary).

Climate
Warm all year, with average highs from about 75°F (24°C) in January to 89°F (32°C) in July and August; late May to mid-October is wetter and muggier, with frequent afternoon thunderstorms. The Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, peaking around September 10.

Fort Lauderdale Beach and the Beach Promenade

The central beach along A1A has a palm-lined promenade with hotels, shops and rooftop bars, and Las Olas Oceanside Park (The LOOP) hosts weekend markets and evening music. It is about 4 km (under 10 minutes) from the Northport terminals and about 10 km (about 20 minutes) from Midport, which makes it an easy pre- or post-cruise stop.

Walk Las Olas Boulevard's restaurants and boutiques and the 3-mile Riverwalk along the New River, or ride the hop-on, hop-off Water Taxi past canals, mega-yachts and waterfront mansions (all-route day pass USD 38 for adults; daily 10 a.m.–10 p.m.). Las Olas is about 5–8 km (10–15 minutes) from the terminals, and the Water Taxi stores luggage on SE 17th Street.

Airboat tours into the Everglades "River of Grass" leave from Everglades Holiday Park (60-minute tour with a Gator Boys alligator show, USD 41.99 for adults plus tax and fees) and Sawgrass Recreation Park (40-minute ride with a reptile exhibit, USD 30.95 for ages 13 and up). Both are about 38–46 km (25–30 minutes) west of the port, so they suit a half-day before or after the cruise.
