Things to Do in Busselton

Busselton Jetty

The 1.841 km heritage timber jetty reaches out across Geographe Bay from the town's foreshore. Walk it (Jetty Walk Pass AUD 5 for ages 17 and over while the Interpretive Centre is open) or ride the solar-powered jetty train. Services depend on weather and sea conditions.

Busselton Jetty Underwater Observatory

About 1.7 km along the jetty, a guided tour descends 8 m to the sea floor by a 60-step spiral staircase (a lift is available) to see the corals and fish living on the jetty piles. Tours include the return train ride and a Jetty Day Pass, take about 1 hour 45 minutes, must be booked and run weather permitting.

Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse

A working lighthouse in Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, at the western tip of Geographe Bay, about 40 minutes' drive away. Guided 30-minute tours climb 59 steps to the balcony for views over the Indian Ocean and Geographe Bay (adult AUD 18) and include the Lightkeepers' Museum.

Margaret River wine region

One of the world's youngest wine regions, best known for Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, with more than 90 cellar doors, many with cafes or restaurants. Margaret River town is about 45 minutes south of Busselton; Ngilgi Cave at Yallingup, Western Australia's oldest tourist attraction, is on the way (self-guided, adult AUD 32).
